VISION:

Nostalgia Designer Recycle first opened its doors in a little shop in Hastings in 1994. 5 years on, moving to their current space in Havelock North. Founder Diana Matthews had worked in the fashion industry in the heady 1980s, in Wellington and Auckland. Ahead of her time, Diana spotted a gap in the market and bravely launched Hawke’s Bay’s original second hand designer clothing store.

Diana ran the business for 25 years eventually assisted by her daughter Susie Devonshire. Proud to continue honouring Diana’s memory, her attention to detail, and reputation for quality, Susie took over Nostalgia in mid 2020. Today they offer the most eclectic selection of sustainable, beautiful, recycled designer fashion in the Bay. They source a carefully curated small range of vintage and handmade New Zealand homewares from time to time too.

PATH:

After 25+ years in the circular economy Susie contacted Fresh Designs for a brand refresh. The brief was to modernise and add a fresh feel to the brand. A clean, modern san serif font and a new logo were designed. The new logo reinforced the important recycle aspect of the shop in a modern and contemporary way. The pale sage brand colour finished off the look. Today Nostalgia Designer Recycle happily sits alongside the beautiful shops and designer goodness in the pretty village of Havelock North in the heart of Hawke’s Bay.
